well this one certainly got everyone talking....
Buzzin, I guess your first post echoed the same sentiment as a few others.
let him speak and lets have an honest debate about his theory or film.
Sure if we heard the arguments most would swerve to the centre once they heard the extreme nonsense sensibly discussed and verified or ridiculed.
If we aren't grown up enough to have this openly discussed we do let the gossip and whispers take the central ground in this topic.
But we do need to tackle the More extreme viewpoints, the hate preachers etc, we are particularly weak in this field, quite possibly due to the governments strict interpretation of all European directives
(the French look after there own and take quicker action.
Vive La'france))
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3753341.stmnews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3717452.stmThe trouble is, we fail the moderates, of any faith IF we do not tackle the more extreme members actions and viewpoint .
(A bit like the bully in the playground cowing all the other kids to do what they want, makes it difficult to make a stand against them, if you feel the authorities won't back you up and assist you
(Point of note was Abu Hamsa was kicked out at Finsbury by the mosque elders, who received little help from the police in enforcing that exclusion)
We are no where near it, thank god/allah/etc. But No one wants the misery religion can bring to places like N.Ireland or iraq.
Not strictly religious wars but religion used as an excuse for attacks.

"Hordes of illegal immigrants are allegedly taking our jobs" (often the media don't differentiate between legal and illegal). "We Are Being Inundated By More Immigrants Than Anywhere Else." Really? I suppose it may feel like that depending on where you live, but of all the people in the world who feel the need to leave their own country, about 3% actually have come here. "
Hi Micawber, nice post. But might i make one or two points
"....leave their own country, about 3% actually have come here. "
3% seems to suggest it's not a lot? if they all came to my house it would be, but if they went to russia or the states probably not, but we are a small country, and the waves attempting to cross over from calais tell a tale, i think.
Even the French think we are encouraging people to come her with our easy access to benefits and accommodation.
Immigration is a Europe wide problem, we need to be taking collective action to stem and manage the flow.
remember it is not just the 'One' who costs money, with a family allowed to come here (extended is included) they do add to the burden on Housing, medical and schooling in terms of costs and crowding.
The uk is becoming one of the most crowded places to live in europe.
Think the 'depends' where you live' is important.
Have noticed a big increase in London where I live over the past few years. it is common to hear people moaning that English seems not be the main language you here in some areas.
(I don't mean a specific language, just a foreign one)
I am lucky to work and meet a lot of different nationalities and religions, perhaps like some of you do.
And 1-on-1 I either like or dislike them because of who they are NOT what they are (ie nice/rude Christian/Hindu, etc.)
The problem isn't 'immigration' and Immigants (Legal or otherwise) it is 'Unmanaged Immigration'
The government has lost track of how many, that any statistics it offers are most certainly an under estimate and should be treated with caution.
Unfortunately, the Credit crunch and more job losses is going to expose the mess we are in regarding this.
By Employing Foreign workers, any company can lower its wage bill, drive a coach and horses through pay round negotiations and still be legal.

Am I alone or does that seem like lunacy and a sure way to bankrupt the country?
Don't know who said it but 'charity begins at home'
lets look after ours first then when we have too much, start giving it away
Foreign companies take over british industries (And not luxury goods but basics like power and water.)
then start to employ the cheapest labour in europe.
Who now have to travel across europe to get to work (So much for saving the planet and lowering greenhouse gases
)
More people travelling further to feed there families, in my mind is not joined up government thinking and will do nothing to save us from the economic slowdown, the credit crunch OR global warming...Well done brown and his bunch of dimwits....
