Just in on the news: Dutch rightwinged politician refused entry to the UK, he would pose a threat to British security I know he might have some stong ideas, but refusing someone entry just because he doesn't like a particular religious group? This group is known to kill anyone oposing them....so he wouldn't be the threat... I hope they will let me in for our spring ride out, as on a lot of points I tend to agree with the man. (not all points) Sorry, just really couldn't believe my ears when I heard this.....sounds like the anti-terrorist laws being abused again.

Yes, the UK has gone mad. In many ways.

The British have become experts in this field. We are targetting the people prepared to vocally challenge the system, but turning a blind eye to those who threaten and execute violence.
We are so focussed on political correctness "let's not upset the minorities, but we can abuse the silent majority"
Don't get me started!
Buzzin' I'm sure you and your aNTy will be fine, just don't have a pile of political stickers on your top box when you get the ferry over. Nod and smile to the nice people at the border, don't feel you need to remind them that you're an EU citizen with the right to a free passage in the EU. Just act dumb, pretend you're from from somewhere outside of the EU and only coming over for some free benefits and you'll be alright.

I just watched a bit of newsnight, and the level of ignorance on the person representing the home office was mind bogling... "Did you actually SEE fitna?" no, I don't need to see it to have an opinion.... Riiiight. The reverend had a good point: If this movie, or in deed mr. wilders' dislike, would have been directed at christianity the british politicians would have welcomed him with open arms Ow well, at least the man got what he wanted.....a discussion in the UK (which is always good) *sigh* I wish I could take control of the world and set it all right....but I can't, so I'll stop arguing about it now Sorry for going all political, but I am always surprised when these things happen in a civilized western country

I rarely see TV and haven't seen a newspaper today yet. But I did listen to the news and thought, if nothing had been done to prevent his access, he would have gone to the House of Lords, addressed a few dozen peers, gone home and no-one would be any the wiser. I would bet that there are thousands of people googling him and looking at material on You Tube etc. Inadvertantly, our bungling government have furthered his cause. As I type, Radio 4 article on govenrment officials excessive "jollies" makes me smile with the irony!

My dear god. This country really is dropping its British foundations in favour of the 'ethnic minority'. How come british kids aren't allowed to talk about god in class, but pakistani's are being allowed to wear their masks on their driving licence photo because its their religious belief?!
Wake up PC crowd!!!

Hubcap writes Edited to reflect the real truth and wisdom of your words... (Buzzin, Am i right in thinking that the Dutch have a particular problem with a growing muslim population, and have started to take action on it, hence the rise of politicians like Geert wilder?) Not sure if you would have seen this today, but makes some good points www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/columnists/john_gaunt/article2233396.ece

Nice find Jaz, interesting read. (hold my hands up as I guess a news paper snob, it's not one I would buy. but spot on.) and had a chuckle at the joke at the end. Funny how he was not a risk when he came over two weeks ago. I hope they are that consistent with all risky types!! Reminds me of the old lady going through customs in airplane 1. I have the Quran and the Bible on my shelf, I am interested in all faith. We need debate not knee jerk reactions. Roger

Whether a person is 'good' or 'bad' (extremist ?) has nothing at all to do with their religion. There are good and bad persons in every religion.
Have a look, for example, at the dutch right-wing extremely conservative & christian political party called GPV. They have certain beliefs which are totally crazy (woman shouldn't be allowed to vote / woman shouldn't be allowed to work outside the house etc.).
So I just wish that the whole world would stop to think in terms of "muslim" or "non-muslim".
We're all just people !
