When riding my bike, I don't see very much in my mirrors. About 50% of what I see are my arms. So I've been thinking about getting a new set of mirrors, which are positioned a bit further apart. 1. Has anybody got some suggestions what to buy ? 2. What is the thread-size used to fix the mirror on the handle-bar (is it M10 ?). Thanks for any suggestions. GvS

GvS I bought these ( www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/NTV_650_P_Revere/93-94/picture/Mirror_Left_Hand/) at wemoto. I like them. They have good viewing angle and can be adjusted in a way that you almost cant see your arms.

They look similar to mine. I found them a problem initially but they are just fine now.

all i did was add a 2" bracket & moved the mirror out & slightly forward
Presto....................sorted
& if it gets knocked the bracket bends & saves the mirror

louis.de sells these: www.louis.de/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10029014 but I'm not sure if they fit (I can't imagine why not) But similar things can be found all over the web. The brackets are by SW-Motech I opted for some other mirrors, wider and bigger. They look pretty good if I do say so myself (yes...those are two other NTVs at my work place) Only disadvantage: the mirrors are now at the same hight as some car mirrors, and because they are wider than the bars....you have to be careful when filtering....(more careful than me )

I like that black windshield on the middle NTV ! Do you know where to get it on-line, or is it a custom one ? And those crashbars, where did you get them from ? I thought of mounting some engine guards like these below, but I dont know if or where I can mount them on the NTV. Anyone tried before ?

The black windscreen (and mine...they are identical) are from puig and universal, you can buy them pretty much anywhere. louis.de sells them (as does getgeared.co.uk or motozoom.nl, both louis dealers) for around 15 to 20 euro ( www.louis.de/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10006508The crashbars are hepco & becker and well, they're not very good They look nice, but I doubt it would stop much damage if you were to fall.... Actually, someone in the dutch NTV thread (on the motor-forum) makes does kind of crash pad thingies himself (to order...and only after enough interrest) They are mounted on the front engine mounting bolts

I thought of mounting some engine guards like these below, but I dont know if or where I can mount them on the NTV. Anyone tried before ? These are crash bungs, sometimes called bobbins, sliders or mushrooms. they could be mounted on your bike using the engine mounting bolts, but you would have to buy some longer bolts (you could try a longer length of threaded stainless steel - existing ones are (I think) M10 the back one is either 250mm or 260mm long, the front one is 270mm long) Any else any experience of fitting these on an aNTy?

That's the same one I linked to (as I said, getgeared is a louis dealer) Only difference: price at louis is in €, at getgeared in £ (not sure if either will ship to portugal)

I agree with the wemoto mirrors, had to replace my left hander about a year ago 'cos the bloody bike fell over on some grass, though I will admit it was a bit of a pain the mudguard to get it set up just right, what with that 2nd adjusting thing, but once you've got it set up it provides a great view of what's behind, until you lean it on the fence, show's the dent in my tank just nice if I do that. ;D

Thanks ! I think I'll try norfolknchance's solution first (add brackets).

Today I removed my mirrors in order to clean them. This way I found out that the thread of the screw on the mirror is left-winding. And the thread on the ´extension-bolt´ is right-winding. I can only think that this was a deliberate design feature, so that the mirror would unscrew if it got hit by something in any direction. GvS
