I was just thinking the same thing. I'm working nights till Wednesday, but after that am more than happy to get all the details together and form an itinerary of sorts.

Id be up for going a ride sometime in the next few weeks and stopping off for a coffee somewhere to roughly organise ourselves if everyone else is up for it?

The word on the grape vine is that edwinsp is no longer going, which may give you more flexibility in your planning. I still can't come but please take lots of pics of the trip and all those great roads . I will then use your text / images for a new web page.

Wild camping isnt technically legal but is generally accepted as long as you stay no longer than 1 night on elevated ground with out leaving damage, abiding by fire laws and generally being respectful. Another suggestion is to find high ground to camp on, so not a problem really. Itd be fun to hike up to a vantage point and find somewhere nice to camp nearby

righto guys, this is creeping up on us pretty fast, and i'm working lots between now and then. there are a few things that we definitely need to sort out: 1. meeting point on the saturday morning, and the time to meet up. 2. shortlist of places we def want to go to - the route can always be amended on the fly if needs be. 3. location of camping areas so we can plan accordingly. 4. eating plans (to save doubling up on stuff between us) for point 1 - i will be staying in Inkberrow (worcs) on friday night at my friends house, what about the rest of you? are we still planning to meet in gloucester, or are there any other suggestions? point 2 - i like the idea of the stop off in criccieth, but it isn't hugely essential for me, i'm just looking forward to the camping etc point 3 - apart from the wild camping aspect, which i really fancy (can you provide a google maps location for planning purposes Norfolk? thanks) i liked Rogers suggestions - I have also found this one in Snowdonia. It may be a bit far north, any thoughts on the site or location
www.thesnowdoninn.co.uk/location.html
Here is a better location map for the Snowdonia site.
maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=LL55+4EE....ingdom&t=m&z=11point 4 - i am thinking about BBQ, but then the size of the gear required is usually prohibitive.( maybe a couple of disposables?? ) camp fire could be cool, and i can always bring a small cool bag to enable us to buy some meat stuff on the route, but not all sites are open to the idea of open fires. other than that, i am intending to take my trangia, and some meths, so there will be plenty of hot water on the go from me i will also be taking some emergency pasta sachet type stuff for the days when we can't be bothered with full on meals. as far as anything else goes, i'm game for pretty much anything, but would like to get the meet point sorted at least cheers, Lee
