Hi Hopefully we all had a wonderful time over the festive season, and have all recovered from Christmas and new Years by now.... And we have all noticed we have a new look to the background of forum.. It was felt that a new forum should be as familiar as the old with a few new bits in it. And the Pics certainly is that... ;D Thanks to McF for Setting quality and size of pic, Nice job M8... . But as lovely as pic is, I am sure we will all be bored by looking at it for the entire year. So, why not have a Competition for the next pic to replace it. (Could be held every month and voted on, by us, the members ;D ) So What pics and where can I find them? Pic is your choice, a particualr view maybe or a collage of pics. It could be fluffy puppies or kittens, but remember it is a bike site, so such choices may fail to win any votes... You can find pics by Googling 'Bikes + Scenery Pics' or something similar. You could find them by checking out other peoples touring pics, (some wonderful tour shots out there) Once you find your pic post a link to it in here. (Ps. try and give pic a memorable name for us to vote on, not just 00011aa pic, please) Although we are a democracy, we still need an adjudicator so in the event of a tie the Administrators (McF) say will be Final... So post those pics for the end of jan, and maybe yours could be our new forum poster for the month of February. jaz

Nice to see you set the standard so high, can't wait to see what others can find.

I believe an apology and belated welcome are in order.. Just checked members list to see how many from the old forum have come over to the new forum, and i realised the general is Mrs McF............ Rude of me not to say welcome when you first came on board, just assumed others had and didn't think anymore of it. From Mcf's post i got the idea bike were ok but not hugely welcome, so good on you for getting involved with us NTV Nutters. Again Welcome to forum, and as i say to all .. Enjoy, post often, & Both ride safe.. jaz

A big criteria for a background picture will be the original quality. RJ's latest choice is a good scene, but the quality when it's reproduced for a background is very poor especially when compared to the current choice by Jaz. Click on thumbs for bigger images: Someone else may be able to get a better quality, glad to hear if you can. I'd suggest any searches are for file size => 200kb ("Large" if you're doing a google search). Basically, the full size image should be the size of your monitor, or at least 70% of it The size of most conventional screen set ups is 1024 pixels x 768, however a lot of people are moving to wide aspect which has a greater horizontal component. For viewing images on screen 70dpi is usually enough

Hi franklin Nice pics mate, very arty.. Rj nice size pics, but previous had more......Oomph.. But i guess McF is right, got to have a big pic for background. maybe try a bit of your picassa magic and resize pics. Using irfanview myself, but Mcf seemed to get a better result using Photoshop i think. Could try the 'Gimp'. Its free but as its more Linus orientated maybe Buzzin knows if its any good? Pic can be anything we want, bike pics would be ok, but will the public vote them the winner.....You decide... ;D ;D Jaz

Thanks the welcome Jazz66 I like to ride on the back when it's warm and sunny, but do not do any of the taking it apart etc that the minion does.
He asked me to make an account on my PC, so that he can check the site out. Of course, now I can check out what he is doing too!
The General - be afraid - all of you
