Even if they didn't go all the way.
perhaps just to the English coast or for a short trip over on the other side.
Might make a good 1 or 2 days out.
Do you still have your route Btw? would it be possible to slap it on a google map pages and stick it up here so we could have a peruse over the winter

I Agree with Rj, the A350 route Trowbridge-Poole is a gr8 run, notice the map does not follow the A350 all the way down, between Shaftsbury and Blanford there is a route over what the locals call the Eagles,( large roundabout in Shaftsbury first Left towards Salsbury first right across duel)less traffic and some gr8 straight bits, one steep hill at the start. I picked this route up when I went down to Poole to meet Rj.
P.s Recommend this route any Tuesday evening in the summer, and take advantage of Poole nite for the bikes.

Well, we did have the first inaugural run for the Forum to the National heritage Motor centre in Gaydon. warwickshire. Map. Was a Big Honda meet, but the museum did have quite a few bikes etc. and seemed pretty central for all at the time. Trouble is how far WILL we travel for a meet. Fair play to Buzzin, he travelled from the Netherlands to Popham for the Big meet this year but in reality how far will most travel? Might be an idea to have maybe 2/3 areas to organise trips in? The south, the Midlands and the north naturally spring to mind. any one wishing to attend any would be most welcome but the attendance would probably be those more local. So for me, If i was being honest, I would probably think a trip as far as Birmingham would be the limit for a day out to meet up, 2 hours up+ 2hours back + 1-2 hours chatting and stuff, but throw in a purpose as well and that could be extended. I do think the ride out for itself is good, but maybe the meeting point should have an interest itself, what that interest could be i am not sure but motorcycles, or aeroplanes...would seem related in my eyes. Perhaps meet up to ride a particular road would be a popular idea Sure there are quite a few good roads, small airports and Bike museum, and Sunday type bazaar/fayres up and down the country that one or two of us could easily get to. Some may be an interesting meeting point for an NTV gathering in the summer. Maybe we could all nominate some places to meet of interest and add them to a map and simply vote for one or two to gauge the amount of interest...?

Yeah Birmingham is reachable for me too, I'm sure there must be something interesting in the midlands area. I will have a scout on google to see if there is anything bike centred down there.

well paulie I have never been to it...so why not. Lets make it a trip in 2010..bit of a way for Rj and all those that way, but i could make it a stop over if anyone else wanted to share a room.. (separate beds of course, unless.......... we get an ex lap or pole dancer join our group who wants to share, then as a Gentleman, of course i would consider budging over a bit for her... ) One night stop over (lots of deals re rooms at premier inn and travel lodge as i recall ) £30-£50 a room, plus the entrance to Museum....Pukka. So anyone else interested?

Depending on when this would happen.....I am not opting out just yet It's not as far as last time actually....I can take the ferry from Hoek van Holland to Harwich...on which I can relax Now all I have to do is fit it in with all my other trips (luxembourg 4 days, alps/dolomites 10 days, camping trip 4 days....not of it on flat roads )
