In these silly times, I think that it's important not to be tracable through this horrible (but often very handy) Google search engine.
I found out that entering my old name & NTV 650 in Google gave this forum as a result on the first page ! For this reason I changed my name to the one shown on the left.
Perhaps I'm a bit paranoid, but better to be safe than sorry.

Traceability on the net is all to easy, e-mails send your ip address, cookies can be hijacked remotely just by visiting a wrong website and there are countless other ways to find people, one piece of advice i would say is don't use IE as a browser, learn how to proxy and never use the same password twice

Just to let the english in on the translation: Graaf = Count Should I now refer to you as "Your excellency"? I am delighted to confirm that a mate recently bought some land (1 square metre) and is now a Scottish Laird. He kindly dubbed me "Duke of Auchtermuchty". I think a Duke outranks a Count, so perhaps I can remain informal, but the rest of the Riff-Raff will have to bow and scrape. Traceability on the net is all to easy, e-mails send your ip address, cookies can be hijacked remotely just by visiting a wrong website and there are countless other ways to find people, one piece of advice i would say is don't use IE as a browser, learn how to proxy and never use the same password twice As illegal says, it is too easy and we should all be careful. It's very difficult to keep track of all my passwords etc, but it is important. remember to keep passwords complicated, but easy to remember. A long password can be a phrase I luv my aNTy = 10 letter password by replacing I with 1 a with 4 y with 7 I get a 10 character password 1luvm74nt7 which has mixed letters and numbers. It looks very random, but I can remember that (Don't worry, I have never used anything which looks anything like this or have I?)

Should I now refer to you as "Your excellency"? As far as I know my blood is red (blue blood = aristocracy), so I'm quite 'common'. I thought of this alias because I once did a hot air balloon flight (long, long time ago): after your first balloon flight you get a sort of baptism: A small piece of your hair gets set on fire & is immediately put out with (very cheap) champagne. After that you get your 'name'. In my case this was "Luftgraf von Salland", which is German for Air Count of Salland (which is the area I flew over). Since I'm not German, I translated it to dutch & left the air-bit out.

Nice post McF re security password that we CAN remember... Lost track of how many time i have requested a new password. (Still at least it means i change mine regularly... ;D ) Nice post GvS.. Thats something i have never heard of before... Seems quite a quaint tradition, sort of reborn (like a biker.. ) Maybe we should start one for us.. *Circle the bike around the new Member (prospect) *Cut a bit of hair, *chant a few words, (Cubic Centimetres, Miles Per Hour and Revolutions Per Minute all in a Gregorian chant style, with a slowly increasing tempo) *then set it on fire with petrol *and douse it with a large cup of Tea...Pukka. ;D

Lost track of how many time i have requested a new password. (Still at least it means i change mine regularly... ;D ) I'm rather lazy and use the "log in forever" - means one less password to remember. Probably breaches my security a little, but I do believe that locks only keep honest people out - if someone wants to crack my security, they probably will - I just trust that they will find someone with assets worth nicking. Maybe we should start one for us.. *Circle the bike around the new Member (prospect) *Cut a bit of hair, *chant a few words, (Cubic Centimetres, Miles Per Hour and Revolutions Per Minute all in a Gregorian chant style, with a slowly increasing tempo) *then set it on fire with petrol *and douse it with a large cup of Tea...Pukka. ;D I'm linking this - for our next meet up

Ohh Excellent
If we all have to get 'Baptised' we will have to think of some really cool biking names.
Got the monikers on here, but these ones would be our secret Biking names of Power .... ;D ;D
