Looking for some thoughts on paint spraying. I have a small air compressor at home which is powerful enough to run a spray gun; I also have a grit blaster (not very successful due to the volume of air required), tyre inflator (very handy), blow gun (extremely useful). I loaned compressor and gun to a friend; he stripped the gun to clean after use and has mislaid the needle. Without it, I'm struggling to get another needle and as my friend has just packed all of his stuff and moved with my needle somewhere in his boxes, it will be a while before I get it back and able to use my gun again. Rather than buy a new big gun, I'm thinking about an air brush. Logic is that it's smaller, easier to clean, will run from lower pressure / volumes of air and will give me an extra capability. The biggest thing I'm ever likely to spray is the bodywork (in individual panels) of my ride on mower project www.ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=otherbikes&thread=670&page=1 or a bike fuel tank or side panel etc. The choice is huge, but I'm thinking suction cup with external paint mix and a double action trigger. Anyone got any experience? Grateful for some thoughts.

Hi McF. Would guess that the airbrush would be ideal for small areas like the panels on the bike or even the ride on mower panels. Can't say I have used one, and you have probably researched this anyway but here is a link re airbrushing that might be useful www.howtoairbrush.com/Good luck and do let us see some of the art work
