I have a thing for "working vehicles" i.e. vehicles that have a certain duty other than transporting people and/or goods from A to B. For this reason I place these photo's of a police Deauville (the old one) on this forum, which I found on the internet somewhere. We are, after all, also a Deauville forum. As long as they don't come after you with their blue lights flashing, they're OK. ;D Franklin

Nice pics I would love to ride one once....just to know what it's like What I don't get.... is the red lights on the back, can anyone shed some light on that? I don't know about the UK, but here the police/fire department/ambulances only use blue lights, and no other colour is allowed for them. (well, allowed yes, but it would have no legal meaning/status)

Can't help with the red rear lights I'm afraid (but they are odd)
I'm thinking "wait until RJ2Para logs in next and sees that seat" - Parky will have to watch out or RJ will have the seat hump away!
When I was a lad and playing in the park after hours it was a wizened old guy that smoked too many woodbines tried to chase and catch us.
Now you get "Park Ranger" and his multi coloured Deauville with flashing lights and automatic ASBO printer - Gawdelpus

Absolutely correct Franklin...we area Deauville forum as well.. As a stab in the dark, i'm pretty sure i have seen those sort of lights used before. I think they are stop lights (on without the brake being applied) and simply switch from one to the other repeatedly, to indicate to others to slow down or stop at an accident or Checkpoint.

I was thinking that there should be photo's of the new deauville as a "working bike". So after a quick search of the web, here are the results: Spanish (?) medical emercency bike Deauville of a british blood transfusion bank. Apparently this last photo is of the deauville's which have been bought by the chinese police (I though the chinese would never buy anything made in Japan ). Franklin
