Hi there
I have bought a rep kit for my front brake caliper for my NTV 650 1997 intending to change it myself.
Problem is the brake is somewhat uneven in its efficiency. At one point it brakes a little, and as I squeeze harder it suddenly brakes very hard. There's no smooth in between...
So question... Is there something that I need to be cautious about when changing the parts in the caliper, or is it just a walk in the park?
Best, Malte Jefsen from Denmark

Walk in the park Just pull it apart and put in the new bits and it's done! Just check the piston is smooth and without distortion

Hi Seastate 🙂
Thanks!! I hope we're talking about the same thing. Is there a piston inside the little brake fluid container, which I call the caliper? Maybe it's not called the caliper, the thing that I'm talking about...
What I'm trying to do is to renovate the brake fluid container with its springs and a little black thing that presses the brake fluid back and forth...
Thanks again!! 😊 👍

Thats whats normally called the master brake cylinder - the caliper is the part on the wheel. Same applies - it's easy. Just take out the old cylinder, seals, spring and circlip and put the new ones in. Do you have a haynes manual ? wbieniec.kis.p.lodz.pl/moto/ntv/manual/7.pdf section 7.5
