Hey all, am new (ish) here, and got my first big bike after my test a 1994 NTV650 that I'm simply loving. Had it 2 weeks now and simply can't keep off of it.
I'm hoping my new found ntv family can help...
So, my questions are...i like the look of some "modded" NTVs. Nothing crazy...subtle like. Plus I'm no mechanic. I was thinking painted wheels, painted fuel tank and perhaps a new seat.
I'm confused. Should the wheels - professionally stripped and powder coated have the bearings left in, or removed? I read somewhere that's it's good to replace with new. This is fine, but if the wheels are painted with bearings OUT, will that reduce the fit for the bearings? If painted with thr bearings in situ, am i going to damage my new wheels when i swap the bearings? Not sure what to do. The painters day they need the wheels fully stripped down....
Also...if looking for a slightly cafe racered seat... How do i need to consider the adjustment - if any, to the rear of the frame - where the grab rail is and rear light cluster? What do I do? How do i do it? Or is it a case of cutting...welding...and making new panels (fibreglass)?? I say this like I'd know what to do or how to do it...i wouldn't!
It's all a mystery this "modding" malarky...i have no idea where to start! Or how to go about it.
What I'm after is this, or similar. Does anyone know of any more details on this specific bike, that's in the gallery, a contact detail? More photos?...

The seat looks like the frame has had little or no mods...and with my almost zero knowledge...that's a good thing!
Any help gratefully received! I'm based near Oxford if a meet up would be useful to point at bits on the bike!
Many thanks!!
