Hi folks,
I wanted to share with you a short story of my NTV650 which was heading for the junk yard, because the work needed to put it back into a (mechanically and legally) road worthy condition was not cost effective. The amount of work needed to be done was considerable and not without other problems discovered whilst being restored. This man collected my bike and throughout the year, despite a number of set-backs and issues he has had to deal with made good on a promise to get the bike on the road again asking for nothing more than smokes and hob nobbs (I kid you not). You may know thus guy as ‘Odie’ or Rick Hoad, I also know him as a friend, who went much more than the extra mile (for a stranger) when called on. This guy has worked his magic and restored a bike that would surely have been destined for the scrap heap or chopped for parts. The NTV aced its MoT this morning, which given its former condition is nothing short of incredible and is not legally back on the road. The journey from Derby to Malvern (Worcestershire), despite the squally conditions and torrential rain was an absolute joy to ride; the NTV performed beautifully.
Rick, it almost seems a mere token gesture but I assure it is not, thank you so very much you have done an amazing job.
Kind regards

Hi GvS,
Absolutely agree, Rick does not drink (alcohol) but cigarette tokens certainly. I am very fortunate and as stated previously very grateful for Rik's work on my NTV.
Kind regards
Chris

Nice post. The world's not a bad place really, eh?
I've had far too much to drink. Bed time.

Excellent to hear there are such generous folk out there and that your bike's back on the road. Happy riding!
