Hi, went for a quick ride about to make sure everything was OK before thinking of selling it (the NTV) stopped to take piccys and noticed something was binding. Thought at first it was the back brake, but it wasn't that. So has anyone had a final drive start seizing up, if I stop for 5mins it frees up, but obviously if I go more than a few miles sod's law it will lock up completely. (Oil level OK). I have a complete swing arm/drive if necessary (it came with the bike when I bought it) Is it difficult to fit/change? (I have a copy of the Haynes manual on computer
Thanks, Pete

The final drive is easy to change but it might be awkward to get the universal joint lined up without removing the swingarm. Try removing the four nuts holding the FD on and pull it off. The driveshaft should also come out and hopefully the universal joint as well. You should replace the oil seal and clip on the driveshaft where it couples onto the FD not forgetting to smear Moly grease generously on the splines. Then simply stick it back in and hopefully the universal will go back ok. If the universal doesn't come out or wont go back in nicely, the swingarm will have to come off. The Haynes details it all quite well. (page 6.17 ntv.punio.eu.org/haynes/6.pdf )
