Check out this new innovation from Microsoft It's a web site to create an interactive 3D arrangement of your photos I'm still playing around with it to see what it can do, but have successfully managed this photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=05713edd-9c3a-4b14-9f61-3ceead1c7c40You will need to install some software on your PC to view it, but it is worth it. This is my friend's Suzuki Bandit. She has been away for a few months and I've stored it for her. Took it out a fortnight ago for a wash polish and "test ride", then sent her some photos, including this link. Three ways you can use the setup 1. Panorama - Stand still and rotate the camera taking lots of photos of a panoramic view. 2. 3D - walk around an object taking lots of photos from different angles with the object in the centre. 3. Composite - a mixture of 1. and 2. There is a good example of the pyramids. So far, the main secret I have found is take lots of photos, the more the merrier and get lots of overlap.

We’re sorry, but Photosynth currently doesn’t run on your operating system. Please see our system requirements listed to the right. (Windows only, not even Mac support) Then again, what did I expect from MS I have heard of a program called autostitch for panorama pics. (again, windows) I hope they get it working in silverlight soon....so I can try (silverlight -> moonlight on linux....developed by novell as part of their agreement for linux!)

Good find McF... Pity like Buzzin says it needs to be certain browsers though. Saw the site and then realised i couldn't use it but still had to install it to simply view... Don't have ie7 on board, tend not to use it Don't have Firefox on this computer, using opera N Chrome It will not play, so will have a look at it later. Can see why MS limits stuff to only its browser and a few others, but it does hinder the early adoption and migration to new and interesting products. I wonder if biker places of interest only let in certain riders if they were riding a particular bike, ie; Honda, kawasaki, sports or cruiser, how many bikers would even bother trying until access was guaranteed to all..... Grumble over, will check it later... ;D
