Decided to fit motorcrosss style and hand guards and heated pads to the ntv, to try and keep my hands a little warmer for the remainder of the winter.
Had the bike out for a spin today and really I didn't notice much of a difference , however the real test will be next week when I'm back in college and using the motorway again. Maybe next week I will be able to feel my fingers when I get off the bike.

Hey dublinntv,
What are these heated pads you have used?
I've got handguards with heated grips fitted to my bike, in the winter I stretch bar muffs over the lot to make a nice warm pocket! The hand guards keep the bar muffs open and off all the controls, find it really helps keep ya fingers alive in the winter!

I fitted a set of cheap heated grips, earlier this year, great. Like gingerelvis have a pair of muffs as well though haven't used them this year. But last year I tried summer gloved just with the muffs certainly makes a difference (Cant't use winter gloves with the muffs though - no room)

On my V-Strom I had large hand guards and heated grips....never used anything other then summer gloves on that It keeps the wind off your hands and even rain usually doesn't get to them...unless you plan on standing in one place for a while. But this all depends on the size of the guards of course.

Hand guards were the best thing I fitted.

I agree you have to have guards to keep muffs clear. I've had grips for years on BMWs for all year riders seriously nice, even if you're not means you can run summer gloves all year round.
