Went for just over £110 inc P&P. I've fitted the current version of the Arrowmax (the StreetSmart replaced the GT501 last year, but I think it's pretty similar) and like it a lot - good all round tyre. At this price the GT501 is a real bargain.

tyres have a limited shelf life, and they mentioned production dates of more then 2 years ago. I would pass and get a 'real' new set. But it would explain the low price.

Normally 5 years is the limit, they're cheaper because they're diagonal bias ply not radial, so tough but don't flex like a radial ply.

I think the low price is due to the GT501 no longer being a current model. I suspect one of the wholesalers have off-loaded a load of old stock (which the ebay seller has bought and is now selling off as cheap sets), as the tyre shops will want StreetSmarts rather than GT501s.
I've bought a set of the GT501s and have the rear fitted with a part worn StreetSmart at the front. I like them - much better in cool/damp/wet conditions than the Avon Roadriders I had on previously. Very predictable, even in poor conditions. Not quite the bite of the Roadriders on a warm, dry road, but sadly don't have too many days like that!

Most people say you shouldn't mix diagonal ply and radials, but if you look at some Harleys with a huge rear they have a radial rear with a diagonal front.
