hi folks im bonkers and i live in peterborough .. although i dont own a ntv yet im looking into either a ntv with panniers and rear box like the one rj2para (Bisto) has for sale at the min (if i had passed my mod 2 i would be very interested in that ) or a deauville have just done my mod 1 and awaiting to do mod 2 .. at the moment i ride a little pioneer nevada (chinese bike) mainly for commuting 60 miles a day return journey only got it as it had built in panniers to carry my stuff to work and back ... i do have a question though whilst im here for a first bike am i better of getting a bike with a fairing like the deauville or the naked bike like the ntv ... i do intend to ride in most weathers if possible although ice and snow then i will resort to the car so im thinking that a deauville will offer more protection from the elements than the naked ntv ... but having said that i saw this the other day and it seems to offer a perfect solution to the higher cost of the deauville was that a custom made fairing or are there a few of them around just people dont like them have been told that the bike will handle very differently with a fairing fitted than not but obviously keeping as warm as possible is my main concern on my journey .. glad i found this place regards bonkers

That is an adaptable fairing that will be sold with several different brackets for other bikes available. The deauville also has a much wider front wheel with a far more common tyre size and of course twin discs, as per the weight, you could fit heavier springs or just maybe deauville springs may fit or better still a whole front end with brakes....
The only things I don't like about a deauville are the unremovable planners and the fairing plastic is very brittle. But the superior front end is much better.
