Good to know you got this sorted. I like the gold paint My bikes have always evolved organically, when something needs sorting my first instinct is to see what I can make do with in the shed. Sometimes it works well, other times ..... you don't want to know! Can you tell us where you ordered the rad ? Could be of use for other members with the same problem. GvS No problem, it came from these guys - Motor-uk on evilbay - they do all sorts of bits'n'bobs and the quality seems to be at least as good as you'd get locally, definitely recommended as long as you can wait a few weeks for your stuff. Small sidetrack on the human rights issue - historically speaking, every country in the developing phase has abused its' citizens (and those of other countries - British Empire, anybody?), but once a certain level of prosperity is reached you tend to find that things get better all round, or you get a bottom up revolution as in the French and Russian uprisings. So, from my point of view, I'm getting stuff I need at a very good price and helping the country to grow a conscience - well, it lets me sleep at night anyway!

Final update - came out to the bikes this morning to prepare for the Dundee Bikers Forum Santa Run and found this: Fired 'em up no problem, left 'em warming up for a bit while I went indoors for (another) coffee. When I came out, the temperature gauge (which hasn't worked for ages) was reading bang on halfway, then a quick blip on the throttle (or two, or three, don't like the neighbours anyway) and the fan kicked in just as it should (noisy buggering thing, but at least it works), so all is good in the cooling department now - yippee!

Good to hear....but next time try fixing it in such a way it doesn't require snow to work Nah, this is Sparta Scotland! Snow is part of our cultural heritage, of course if we go independant, maybe Al the Oily fish will separate us from England and use all those ugly buggering windmills as fans to push us down to somewhere like the Canaries .... please? Not bad, considering the thermometer didn't bother getting up into positive numbers, about 70-odd bikes with most tinselled up: Youtube video footage
