Hi I'm rebuilding my -92 revere right now, the goal is a cafe racer/street rod -isch kind of thing. I would like to raise the tail with 3-5 cm. What kind of rear shock would you suggest that aren’t to expensive? How much a raise do think is ok before I start to affect the handling to much or possibly change some crucial angle?

if you highter the rear you may find it well corse problems with the drive shaft as if you highter the rear it well alter the angle of the drive shaft and in doing so the highter you go then you need to think about a slightly longer drive shaft

Possibly you may need an africa twin shock linkage

Hi Klagge, just rethinking your query; "I would like to raise the tail with 3-5 cm." & was wondering; Do you have a specific need for raising the tail via suspension; i.e. Ground clearance or similar? If you're altering the styling of the bike to that of a; "cafe racer/street rod -isch" And in doing so, you're rebuilding the rear end; Have you concidered making rear 3-5cm higher? i.e. Keeping the standard suspension geometry. But maybe with a more cafe racer-ish rear end?
