If it's not one thing it's another! lol. The cable and clocks seem ok. It appears to be the drive unit on the wheel. Is there any way of repairing the drive unit or do I have to source a new one? All opinions, guidance & advice as always is appreciated. ;D

A fairly common is the drive plate between front wheel and worm gear (that drives the cable)
The drive plate is a thin piece of pressed metal that easily loses its shape.
Therre should be two pressed "tangs" that connect with the front wheel and two that connect with the drive mechanism. The tngs can easily get straightened and lose their drive - always worth checking.
There are a few threads on this, especially from JJ. When I have a little time I'll try and check for you.

Finally got around to investigating this, and it is the plastic worm thread inside the drive unit that is causing the problem! New one required due to wear and tear.
