hi might sound a funny question.. not that well up on modern bikes. see that some ntv,s are sold as 33bhp. think the normal is in the 50.s bhp for standard bike. how can you tell if the bike you buy is resticted,. know they fit some thing to carbs or shims to valves. sorry may be an easy question to you honda gurus,. passed my motorcyle test when all you had to do was ride around the block. think the 33bhp is something to do with restricted licence,,. but in the dark on this one.. cheers the slug.

If it's an 'official' restriction, you can see a marking on the rubbers between the carbs & cylinders.

If it's a kit fitted, you could whip the tank off, airbox off, carbs off, and look in the inlets, if there's a washer in there, i.e. hole smaller than if it wasn't there, that's a restrictor kit.
An easier way is to find a quiet stretch of road and see how fast the bike will go. Mine had pretty much nothing left to give at 95mph when the washers were in, after I removed them it gets to 110mph before showing signs of exhaustion. Pretty easy to tell also when accelerating hard through the gears, but more difficult to measure when you're actually riding the thing....
