I understand that the Revere was produced in J, K and M form.
What was the differences, if any, between the designations?

I think you'll find the biggest differences are between J & K models (1st to 2nd year of production). As far as I know the K got: - Longer fork springs
- Better rear shock (remote preload & rebound adjustable)
- Slightly lower 1st gear ratio
- More padding in seat
- Modified carb jetting
I think fork springs were altered again from K to M and jetting was again modified. Not sure what other changes there were. Sure others will chip in with any other changes.

Found this in my copy of; 'Haynes' (0.10)
Model development
NTV600-J Revere (1988 model year) The first NTV was the NTV600-J Revere introduced in February 1988 . Its vee-twin engine was not completely new, having already been fitted to the previous year's XL600V Transalp, but it was the first application in a shaft-driven mid-range road bike. In fact, the Revere filled a space in Honda's line up, previously occupied by the VT500 and before that the CX500/650. The NTV used a 52 degree vee-twin cylinder engine with chain drive to its single overhead camshafts which operate the two inlet and one exhaust valve per cylinder. The clutch is a conventional wet multi-plate unit and the gearbox is a 5-speed. Drive from the gearbox output shaft is turned through 90 degrees by the middle gear unit and transmitted to the final drive unit by the driveshaft which is housed inside the swingarm. The use of Honda's Pro- Arm design single-sided swingarm allows quick and easy rear wheel removal. The engine is mounted as a stressed member in the twin spar hexagon-section frame. Suspension is provided by conventional oil-damped 41 mm forks at the front and by a single shock at the rear which acts on a single-sided swingarm. Braking is by single discs at the front and rear. The NTV600-J was available in white, grey, red - and in certain markets blue colour schemes.
NTV600-K Revere (1989 model year) Apart from a new rear shock which had a remote preload adjuster and provided a means of rebound damping adjustment, the NTV600-K was unchanged from the J model. It continued through the 1990 model year.
NTV600-M Revere (1991 model year) The NTV600-M was unchanged from the K model apart from a reduction in the number of circuit fuses and a minor change of the instruments - the LEDs used previously for the side stand and oil pressure warning lights were replaced by bulbs. The machine was available in white, grey, red, blue and maroon colour schemes and had a slight change to its graphics - a striped trim was added to the fuel tank. The NTV600-M continued through the 1992 model year.
Hoping that it might be of some interest... Dee

Thanks for the replies.
It looks like the changes were minor between models. If changing the rear shocker it looks like a later model would offer advantages with better adjustability.
