Hi All,
It would seem that I now have two fake NTVs on my hands as you know the white Revere has no dint in its tank, well I fitted the replacement engine to my NTV 650 only to find that it's a 600 engine, no real problem I thought but then I took it for a ride to my brothers and found to my horror that the gearbox is as sweet as can be.
On arrival back home I took a look and there is no dint in that tank either and guess what, the old Revere has a fairly sweet gearchange as well.
Guess I'll have to put up with it as I doubt they will fetch much money in that state,oh dear.

Dear worried.. Sorry to hear about your trauma. What makes me soo mad about these charlatans, is that innocent people like you are the real victims...  I know it can't take away the hurt and shame you must be feeling over being so easily duped, but remember these people are cunning and Fiendish, so be strong my friend and remember 'It wasn't your fault'.. Take care ..  Ps No one likes to have a constant reminder of their folly hanging around, so if it helps I can take one or both off of you, of course i would also like to offer a small cash amount to help you recover from the embarrassment and to go towards the cost of finding a 'Real NTV' . Although i am very busy, I really want to help, so please post back when you can deliver so I can arrange to be in when you call. Take care and be more careful next time you buy a bike........  ps good times for delivery are at the weekend between 1pm and 7pm.... ;D |

I blame the Government Someone should do something about this trade in counterfeit goods. Questions asked in the house, ministers should be sacked and the perpetrators of this heineous crime flogged. Makes my blood boil |

Dear Worried,
It seems that I too have been a victim of the counterfeiters. My recently purchased Revere has no dent and the gearbox behaves perfectly. The only saving grace is that with 77,000 miles on the clock the gear linkage is showing signs of a lot of wear, which makes selecting first gear seem like stirring porridge.
Maybe we could console ourselves with the fact that we have all these things to look forward to and may in time join the ranks of the initiated.

feel unsure of my bikes pedigree now,the crufts mot slip insists it officialy a dog however i find all gears easily and it has clear vision in the dark. .
i did think the large dint mite have been a custom/fake addition as the previous owner was known to spend a lot of time in hedges,being a botanist and all.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts, it's nice to know that I'm not alone.
Jaz thanks for your kind offer but I have decided that I shall teach myself a lesson and keep them both naming one sackcloth and the other ashes.
Perhaps we will have to form a sub section for those with fakes.

not got started yet. had a few quotes for bits and work. and toying with the idea of buyin fresh bike, so all in all, no progress as yet..  (ps, was expecting a new one to be delivered this weekend between 1-7pm, even took time off for it , but thats kinda fallen through....... ;D ;D ) |
