Very early days, but a few pics of progress on my 3rd Revere... Bought it ages ago as a spares/restoration project. Now started the rat/chop project.... When I got it: Some of the bits now off it.... How it stands today.... half the bike it used to be... Will keep you posted with progress, though a local guy is doing the fabrication (far beyond my talent) in his spare time so will take a few weeks.....

Interesting start.
Bobber or Chopper?
Have you any design thoughts yet?

Interesting start. Bobber or Chopper? Have you any design thoughts yet? Well, I have to say I'm not quite sure of the precise terminology!! (being so old and square....) I think it's just a "chop". The original intent was to make it look like a rat bike, though thinking has moved on (as has the likely cost!). Now going for a chopped/clean rear end, highlighting the single-sided swingarm and a nice pipe, then the rest is (at a very high level) planned to be a "desert-storm" camo bike (with nobbly tyres!). Thats as far as the thinking has got so far! Will keep you posted....

Updates from today: New rear frame and seat base done, exhaust piping married up to the Akrapovic.... trying to keep the alignment/angle the same between the forks, rear frame and end-can... Starting to take shape....

Looking good already I love `shorties` going to build myself one some day. The Akra keeping the same line as the forks looks good too. I for one will be watching your build progress

I agree she is looking good so far. Rain in the exhaust may be an issue if she lived outside. Could you add a small section to the baffle to keep the rain out. Slight extra curve?

If it`s to be a `rat` an old sink plug (of the right diameter) on a chain could be employed, seen it done many times, for plugging carb mouths too.

Could be fun when it comes to start the bike making sure you remember to pull out all the plugs. It either won't start or you shoot the neighbour ;D

Bit more progress... Under-seat battery box now in place, exhaust mountings done, footpegs and controls all in place. The original bashplate concept (looked too bulky) has now been replaced with this pipe guard/cover... pretty unique I think, and only visible on the one side of the bike which is very different... Bike now being completely stripped to finish the welding and start the blasting. Off to get Renthal bars and some other goodies today.... and need to make the final choice on tyres!?

Wow... Ooh, I really do like that... Lots! Nicely angled & the proportions work well.
Especially your exhaust pipe guard/cover; I was rather drawn toward the Africa Twin (John Deere) bash plate. But, I've just had my mind changed, lol!
Really looking forward to seeing what you decide for your paint job!

You could get some off road tyres, with the exhaust height she would be great for river crossings

Trying to choose tyres today - options with close sizes seem to be the Heidenau K73 or the Pirelli MT60 RS Corsa in the following sizes:
120/70-17 front 160/60-17 rear
