Cheers, guys! ;D Yesterday I fitted an Osram Nightbreaker headlamp bulb for some extra brightness in the dark - it's much brighter and whiter than the original which is great. I have a few more jobs planned for it. I might be fitting a carbon fibre race exhaust to it as the original one is starting to look pretty tatty and is going to blow any day now, and someone I know might be parting with one for very cheap, so I thought why not? My long-time friend (who got me into bikes) would help me fabricate a linker pipe and the necessary bracketry if I manage to get a hold of the exhaust. I have a nice new numberplate on its way to fit onto it as I don't like the one that's on it at the moment (tatty and has the dealership's advertising all over it!). I think you guys may be pleasantly surprised by it when it arrives and I get some pictures up (you'll see) I am trying to source a pair of rear original indicators as there's some aftermarket ones on there at the moment that the previous owner fitted after the originals were damaged - which I'm not much of a fan of. I'd also like to fit some new handlebars to smarten it up a bit. Just need to decide on the size etc. I'll post updates as I do stuff.

Hi parad0x Bike definitely needs a better light, the original sucks big time.. Was the bulb thing a straight swap ? might go that way myself if it was.. Btw; Now you got me wondering?? Would be cool if you had the forum address, mind... ;D Hey McF...Hands off.. ,... ;D (then i realised McF is rebuilding his NTV, perhaps HE wants it for himself.....MMmhhhh.. ) So thats Norfolk, me and McF....Better get it in the garage ASAP...!!..... Ride safe & Post often

Would be cool if you had the forum address, mind... ;D Funny you should say that! ;D Yes, the lightbulb is a standard H4 bulb, straight swap, no difference in wattage etc.

Forum number plate Like it. I seem to remember we talked about this in the old country, but it never made it off the ground. I second Jaz, pics please. My number plate was mentioned at the last MOT as tatty so a "forum" plate could be a goos addition. I am also interested in the bulb idea. Tend to ride more in the day but brighter has to help the cagers spot me.

The rear indicators should be available in most online shop, (check out here) and at the local stealers It seems anyone with a welding device can make their own 2-in-1/collector thingy... I would never do that though....I like my stubby exhaust to much....I would have to fiddle quite alot to get another exhaust that short... Ahh...the joys of non-standard licenseplates (nothing to choose here...any alteration is illegal....) Doesn't stop quite a large number of bikers from putting up a sticker from MF (dutch motor-forum) and even some cops have been spotted with it. Noone ever got a ticket for it so far (well, 1 did, but it got dismissed by the judge) But we just do 'all' our advertising on the licenseplate holder (which isn't legaly required....but every dealer/garage fits them as it's the only way to stamp their name on a car/bike). So a Forumname could life on there As for the lightbulb: I am very satisfied with Philips Blue-Light Vision, as are a great number of Dutch bikers......don't know how easy they are to get hold of over there. The light is much whiter then normal, and the light is therefor a bit more usefull and obvious to cagers. Next step from that would be Xenon....which I don't like...

I have changed one of my rear indicators, I think it's off a CBR. So you should be able to find shed loads on ebay as it seems to be full of CBR kit.
I like bigger indicators, the 'cool' sporty small one may be road legal but the don't stan out very well.

At first glance I thought, "that's a lot like mine!" then realised it has a Powerbronze belly pan with a handlebar screen. Any comments on the belly pan, parad0x? I have found on mine that if you keep the screws that mount the belly pan to the metal brackets well greased or coppaslip'd it pops off easily for oil and filter changes. Of course, if Mr Honda had put the drain plug underneath the crankcase instead of on the side it would be even easier! The original long exhaust certainly isn't a thing of beauty, mine was the stubby variety until it developed a small hole under the heat shield. I think Predator do a shortish one in stainless steel (at a price). But "A Friend" and "very cheap" sounds good to me. Just watch out for the centre stand if you fit a non standard exhaust, as on the original there is a rubber stop under the collector box, and it gets very close to the tyre on the right side if the stand comes too far up. It doesn't actually touch, but with a bit of wear on the pivot, or if the stand has had a bump in the past, it might be a problem. As to handlebars, have you considered pattern Laverda Bars (available from M&P?) They have multi adjustable joints on them so you can try many positions. (Ooer missis!) Talking of exhausts, my old stubby is in the garage still, the chrome is not bad and the front of the collector is sound. If any one wants it to patch it and maybe get a year or two more out of it, you are welcome to have it free if you can pick it up. Just pm me.
Micawber.

My new numberplate hasn't arrived yet but it should do sometime this week, and you'll be getting pictures and details for sure, so don't worry! ;D It will have the forum address on, but it's fully road legal and the right size. I've got the exhaust, so the project is a go-ahead. I'm just finishing making some repairs to the carbon-fibre in the silencer, it had a few scuffs so i've been epoxying and polishing it. Next weekend I'm going to to stay at a friend's for the weekend so the following weekend I'll continue; try to get some bits of pipe at the local bike breaker then get chopping and welding I must say though, this can looks bloody awesome held up to the bike, it matches a treat so I can't wait to get it attached! ;D It's a Micron race-style carbon fibre can but is stamped for Road Use so Mr. MOT shouldn't wag the finger. £30 quid - WIN!! ;D Needless to say there'll be videos of the new exhaust and the V-twin performing a nice musical duet, so stay tuned. Indicators: I've noticed a lot of CBR600 ones on eBay, I might grab some and fit them as they look very very similar - if that's been done before then I think I'll give it a shot! ;D The bellypan was on the bike when I bought it and I can't decide whether I'm a fan of it or not. I think it's got a crack in it somewhere so when I've got some other stuff out of the way I might glue it properly. I guess it keeps some of the dirt away from the engine. I love the screen though, makes a hell of a difference in the wind. I was wondering about the centre stand because of the silencer acting as a stop for it. If it becomes a problem I might try to make some sort of bracket to stop it.
