Does anyone have any experience of the Drift Action camera, or any other type that they could recommend?
Want flexibility to mount on helmet, front of bike etc.
Anybody got any experience, good or bad?
Thanks

For picture quality and easy fitting on just about everything I would recommend the Contour HD's. Not the smallest of action cams.....but the picture is brilliant and it's still all contained in one housing. It works on nokia phone batteries and micro sd cards.....this means very easy to swap both memory and batteries on the go. (for a sample go to youtu.be/k8I0yQFnA5U not my video, but a friend of mine)

This chap does vlogs worth a watch. In addition to this camera specific one that I think you may find interesting.

Think first of the likely lighting conditions you'll be recording in.
The problem for all (esp. small) auto-exposure cameras is high-contrast lighting - sun and shadows in the same shot. If they expose/record for the sun you get dark shadows, if they expose/record for the shadows you get burnt out highlights (like the sky). Result: you can't see anything properly. The worst times are when you wobble along with the camera auto-switching between sunshine and shadow. On playback, both look wrong, and one of those moments always seems to coincide with that one precious moment you really wanted to capture!
Video recording works best in even lighting, so a plain grey day - or an all-sun one - produces a better image.
It is worth paying extra for good exposure control, whether auto or manual. Even if the content is rubbish, having correct exposure makes a video look miles better!

I agree Norfolkchance, it's not BBC quality. That said I think it is a good record of what looked a fun day out. Which is half the point of recording any day out.
I tried some time back with an old mobile and the frame rate was poor which looked very bad.
Your camera looks fine, there are better ones like the Gopro etc. Interesting to see what we all use.

Hey I have exactly the same one ! Bought it recently at our local Hema-shop for € 15 (yes, brand new, still in it's original packaging). This camera had been on sale for a few year and (over this period) I saw the price drop from € 80 to something to something and then finally to €15. Then I snapped it up. Now I'm making a decent mount for the bike. I do like the quality for that price GvS
