Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Franklin for the fuel pump info on his website ( www.stoeretassen.nl/My_NTV650/Benzinepomp/Fuel_pump.htm). Last week, whilst riding through Bakewell in the evening, my bike coughed, coughed a bit more and then died. It was turning over fine, but not starting or just catching and then dying, so I decided it was probably lack of fuel. I wheeled the bike to under a streetlight and from remembering what I had read on Franklin's site, managed to bypass the fuel pump. The bike then started first time (luckily plenty of fuel in the tank) and I managed to get home no problem. I've now replaced the points in the fuel pump and all seems well (including smoothing out the idle, which had been a bit erratic since I got the bike). A little bit of knowledge really helped me out, so if I ever meet you Franklin, I owe you a beer or two!

That's great news and fingers crossed for the replacement points providing a long term solution A little bit of knowledge really helped me out It's what the forum is all about; helping us all to understand our aNTy's quirky little ways and more importantly, how to overcome them. Your own post may also help someone with a similar problem as it will keep the message "alive"

Good feedback gills.
Franklin's site is packed with top content, I am sure he will be pleased to have helped out.
Must have been satisfying to break down and fix her as you did.
Result.

A little bit of knowledge really helped me out, so if I ever meet you Franklin, I owe you a beer or two! I'm flattered.................. I started the site as a bit of fun. But it seems to have evolved into a sort of knowledge base The site gets mentioned on several forums and I have between 10 and 13 unique visitors every day from all over the world. (That's also the reason why I added the "disclaimer" not so long ago.) We'll talk about the beer when we meet up. OK ? GvS (aka Franklin)
