Some more blue sky thinking.... How hard do think it would be to tap both sides of the frame and then connect it in-line to a small compact radiator hanging off the back of the bike. Turn the rear wheel into a fan by sealing the gaps in the spokes to blow air through the rad. Obvisously the water would have to be about 40% glycol to avoid corrosion. Might also help to dampen some of those vibes.... Q: I wonder if the frame is watertight (air pressue test) ? ;D

i like the idea noakira, but i would have to ask, why? as a concept, i'm sure it would have its flaws, but hey, what prototype idea ever come up with didn't have some foibles eh?! it would certainly be a talking point ;D

Reason ? Simple "my dear watson"
Mainly so they I can create a completely smooth front fairing !
But also to remove the radiator out of a crud gathering position and show off more of the engine.
Oohh, Keep you warm in winter !
Because we can...... when I tap the box section of the NTV frame it just cries out "fill me, fill me now"

Noakira, I think you need to get a telly - you've got way too much free time ;D
I think it's a great idea though, but I'd bet a months pay that our beloved frames are leaky as sieves!!

But also to remove the radiator out of a crud gathering position and ..... For that you simply extend the front mudguard a bit: www.stoeretassen.nl/My_NTV650/Spatborden/Mudguards.htmBut I must say that I like the idea. The frame will also act as a radiator, so you'd only need a very small one at the back. Small drawback: you'd need a lot more cooling fluid, because of the volume that the frame would take up (could the pump cope with that ?). Also the engine will take a lot longer to warm up. GvS

on that note GvS, i actually have a specific mudguard extender for the front mudguard, and i have a spare mudguard that aleady has one fitted, and is on it's way to being filled, smoothed, and when i can decide on a colour, painted. if it all goes well, i will happily pass on the spare extender to whoever wants it? i will put up a thread if and when it becomes available

How about a smaller rad at the front, my thought is its the bottom couple of inches that take most of the road grime. Then drill the frame on the inner side, both sides near the head. Then again drill the frame on the inner side, both sides further down towards the pegs. You could then run micro copper plumbing pipe through the frame say a couple of times round in a loop. This removes the corrosion issue and gives you a volume easier to calculate. Not sure its the top of my list of mods. That said a design discussion / problem is always fun. So leave the TV in the shed and keep the ideas coming.

You (rj2Para) and me must be twins separated at birth !
The microbore loop thingy coiled through 4 holes cut into the inside of the frame, perhaps bathed in a secondary (low pressure) loop created within the frame. Either Glycol mix again or another exotic chemical that laps up heat..
You know exactly where i'm coming from..

Hi Groovylee - I've been wondering about the mudguard extension for a while. Pics I've seen look like original parts but I never saw them listed. Very interested if you have a spare - I would refund carr. + ? I don't think I'll be plumbing in the frame - food for thought - could imagine it warming nicely in summer town traffic and then the er, seepage? Frame volume : coolant weight? zzzzzzz zzz
