Article in Jan RIDE mag. The pic of the Deauville "uses footpegs as stabilsers. Whatever works..." Sold me on the mag. Not bought one for a while but I do like RIDE. The Scotland tour also looks interesting. Worth a look. (pitch over )

Be nice to see how well I could throw the mighty Pan around this type of course I have riden the Pan European ST1300 and I had the idea that I could turn it around on a postcard. I've never riden the "old" Pan European. The shorter the wheel base of a bike is, the smaller the turning radius of the bike is (there are other factors involved as well, but the wheel base is the most important). I don't exactly know the wheel base of our NTV's. But I have the idea that it's rather long, compared to other bikes. However, looking up some data, I find: The wheel base of the current NT700V is 1476 mm (I assume that this is more or less identical to the old Deauville NT650V) The wheel base of the ST1300 is 1490 mm So, not a lot of difference.................. But I still have the feeling that the ST1300 is a much more "flick-able" bike than my own NTV650. Perhaps it's the size of the ST1300, which gives it that feeling. GvS
