Thanks to gothjulie for selling me the some spares I am now back on the road after a 2 week gap. Missed the bike and very pleased to have her back in action. Replaced rear disc, caliper (new cylinder / seal for belt and braces) master cylinder and at the same time finally replaced the rear brake pedal. All I need to do now is give her a wash. Sorry Norfolk, but I don't see myself becoming a proper RAT rider, any time soon.

Good to hear you're back on the bike. I was wondering how the story of your rear brake had finished. Did you get your daughters boyfriend to do all the hard work ? ;D ;D GvS (Note to self: must speak to my own daughters about future boyfriends. A builder or a plumber could come in handy )

More of a training session. First we had bacon sarnies and tea, Then Dan and his Dad taught me lots of stuff. Interspersed with more tea and banter. Great morning. I can't see me ever getting good until I can afford a second bike, currently thinking of a scooter at some point for the commute when the Revere needs to be off the road. I have heard of arranged marriages, I also have two son's; not sure it will work, but..., builder, Plumber. Might work, I will have to run it by them. ;D

Interspersed with more tea and banter. Nice (Note to self: must speak to my own daughters about future boyfriends. A builder or a plumber could come in handy ) I wouldn't stoop so low!; I'm trying to encourage my daughter to form a relationship with view to marriage of Warren Buffet

Glad you've got it back on the road.
I've done the rear cylinder head gasket on mine & just testing it, but want to check on the tightness of the cylinder head studs after maybe 1000 miles as when I took it apart they were loose. May have to pour some goo (threadlock) onto the studs if they come loose again.
Still a few things to complete on the bike but at least it's roadworthy & not overheating (yet).
Can confirm that the rear cylinder head gasket is easy enough to do, but I did chip my nail varnish ;D
