The future ?? Or just nonsense ?? The helmet will probably weigh a lot more than a standard one. So it could give you a neck-injury even without an accident

As the video shows, your neck and upper spine can be exposed to a lot of potential damage; the risk of severe whiplash or worse - paralysis is very high. Your helmet can make this worse with an additional 1.5Kg accelerating / decelerating. Professional Racing drivers now have to wear HANS (Head and Neck support) but this appears to be specifically for car use. There is a similar collar produced for bikers and some time ago an orthopedic surgeon wrote an article in BMW mag saying why he always wears his while riding.
Having had a lot of experience with gadgets on helmets, the first thing you have to consider is the consequence of putting extra weight on front or back means adding a balancing weight to the other side you reduce neck strain but it all adds to the weight; I think a fair estimate for this design would be to add another Kg and therefore nearly double the weight which is going to be tiring on a longer journey (my big problem) and limit your all round visibility - you'll be less likely to move your head around.
If I were given the task, I think I'd begin by looking at a collar or something on shoulders of your jacket. Having said that, the idea of having what is effectively a shotgun cartridge dangling somewhere near your head is an interesting prospect!
