Here u see my new baby. Picked her up yesterday late and today i got a chance to get used to it a little. And man, this thing is amazing.
Its very smooth, pulls easily on very slow stuff. Its extremely powerfull once revved up. 6gear overtaking is almost a thriller and it only cost me 700 euros.
Starting it up and driving off just leaves me smiling every time. I'm almost looking for things to go do with the bike and the weather is nuts, so i'm goanna be driving a lot more when the streets dry up.
Why a new bike when u got an NTV? I needed a bike for when my Ntv's exhaust would get fixed up, gotta get to work / school. I had tried 1 cilinders, parallel twins, the Vtwin from the NTV and 600cc 4cilinder touring bikes. The big 4cilinder sports-tourers was the only one left open. And me having owned bikes for just over 3 years and driving well over 50k km i felt it was time for something new.
A Vtwin is great in slower city traffic, torquey feel. The parallel twin is extremely easy to dose and to handle, but a big 4cilinder has blown my mind. Its fast high up, its extremely controllable in low revs.
I know this can be considered blasphemy on an NTV board, but now I know i really needed a new bike to give my riding skills and riding enjoyment a new impulse.
And now i'm forced to listen to everybody telling me that the current generation sports bikes destroy it in every aspect. Top speed, horsepower, roll-ons, weight, ease of use. I dont believe them, i dont think its goanna get any better then this.
(Just forgetting about a slightly leakish fork seal)
Reading this now it almost sounds like i have kawasaki stocks. There are some lesser points, high mechanical noise, bodywork is far from perfect and the fork seal needs replacing. The rear brake also needs some work, maybe steel brake lines and new fluid.
91.000 Km on it, if fuel economy is acceptable and it stays running this bike isn't going anywhere for a very long time.
