Howdy all
2 questions if you would be as so kind :
1)Have just done changed the front pads on my revere. Havent done a caliper rebuild, everything stayed on the bike whilst the job was done. Once new pads were fitted i changed my brake fluid but now the front brake drags.
It is not as easy to push the bike with engine off, pushable but not as easy as with the old pads. You can hear the disc brushing the pads as you push it. Riding the bike is fine apart from the brushing noise of pads and disc. Actual braking is as expected.
Any thoughts on what i might have done wrong? Is this normal? Will the pads bed in with time and the drag/brushing noise stop?
**JUST TO ADD, I DID PUT THE OLD PADS BACK IN AND I STILL HAD THE DRAGGING - DISC BRUSHING PAD NOISE. THE NEW PADS WERE GENUINE HONDA ONES. I CLEANED THE CALIPER WITH BRAKE CLEANER, LUBED THE SLIDER PIN AND THE 2 GUIDES?? IF THATS WHAT THERE CALLED, 2 METAL PIECES THAT THE PADS REST ON, ONE AT TOP OF CALIPER ONE AT BOTTOM.
2)Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the angle of the rear brake pedal? Im finding it a little too high, ideally i would like to lower it. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Simon

If the old pads are also dragging then it sounds like the seals aren't letting the pistons retract properly.
Did you clean up the pistons before pushing them back in?
If the pistons are pitted, I'd replace them with stainless as a matter of course (£18 each or so from WEMoto). If the pistons are OK, take a good look at the seals, quite likely they're a bit swollen and bulgy looking - £5 or so per piston from ..... you guessed it!
If you're replacing the seals, remember to clean the grooves out before the new ones go in or else you'll knacker them in no time. Try blagging old dental picks from your local tooth doctor, they're brilliant for this, or an old micro screwdriver.
One other possibility has popped into my head - possible crap in the master cylinder blocking the return hole?
As for the rear brake pedal - I haven't looked at mine, but I would assume you can just slacken off the clamp and then move it round on the splines?
You're welcome

This happened to me, we greased the pistons up and cleaned them off, and i had to replace my front brake retaining clip, this might be the problem your having also.
