Got to work this morning half dark half daylight - thank god! coz I dropped me bike !! Silly cow hadn't put the stand down properly Luckily my leg took the brunt of the weight so it didn't fall to the ground with a bang Luckily no porters hanging around to take the piss Luckily no injuries to the bike or me Luckily I managed to lift it up with full tank of petrol as well ;D

Ouch....JJ Funny how the embarrassment helps us to ignore the pain and gives added strength .... Glad your ok Dropped mine on myself in early day and sprained foot... Mind you with all the tea and sympathy from the missus, I didn't feel so stupid. (Sympathy ...As if ) Had seen this before, so just thought it timely to post it in here for everyone. How to pick up a bike (Large) Bmw/harley etc www.ibmwr.org/otech/pickup.htmlYoutube video shows how as well... uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pPjYweKeiLk&feature=related

Whoops, glad your ok thou! My most embarrasing drop was on the carpark entrance to work. It was a hard frost, i had came off a well gritted road onto the entrance. It was an off camber slope in the shadow of some bushes. My boss was behind me and I was driving extra slow. I managed to slip and slide down the road at about 10mph. My boss narrowly avoided me. Picked myself up, inspected the new dent in the tank and rode the last few yards into work

Ooops, sorry to hear your mishap
Hope your leg isn't going to be too bad, take care for a few days, that's when the pain / discomfort starts
Also hoping there isn't any harm to your bike

This brings back unhappy memories from the only time (fortunately) when I dropped my bike: After some maintenance I pushed it back into the garage (engine off, walking on the left side). The side stand was extended and my garage has a small threshold. Because of the threshold I got up some speed and , of course, the side stand hit the threshold and tipped the bike over to the right......... Damage: one bent foot brake pedal (which I could repair) & one bent handlebar. The handlebar couldn't be bent back into old position, so I had to order a new one. Price: €120 (in 2004). Expensive mistake !
One other time I nearly dropped it to the left side: I parked the bike in a location that was new to me. Extended the side stand and let the bike fall to the left. Unfortunately, there was a small hole in the road, just where the side stand should hit the roadsurface. Fortunately I could just manage to keep it upright.
Another lesson learnt.......
Ride safely & be carefull when parking your bike

I dropped mine while wheeling her home. I swapped to the right of the bike for a rest, then tried to push on dropping her away from me. Aparently if you bend your knees and lower your center of gravity you can save such a loss of balance. How I can rmember next time. over she went nice and slow onto my foot, bike was ok but my foot was sore for a few days. Get well soon Ride safe & Push with care ;D Roger
