Does anybody know if the engine casings of an NTV 650 would fit the 600 Revere please?
I am considering a polish then fit option.
Cheers Roger

Does anybody know if the engine casings of an NTV 650 would fit the 600 Revere please? I am considering a polish then fit option. Cheers Roger I'm confident that the cases are interchangeable Do you need to go down the route of new cases though? The left side will present few problems. To remove the right side you will need to remove the exhaust header pipes (definetely the rear, most likely the front too (and therefore removing the silencer will make an easier job) You will need to replace the gaskets for both cases, the exhaust manifold seals and gaskets from header pipes to silencer. This week we have had two members report problems with exhaust studs snapping and you're opening yourself up to that risk and all the attendant problems that creates. Don't forget to drain the engine oil before removing the cases. Or you could put the time and effort into cleaning up your cases in situ. Are you planning to remove the paint and go for the polished alloy look, or will you be repainting?

only the alternator side is the same, the clutch side on the 600 has an oil feed outlet with a banjo, this is on my 89 model engine
on my 650 the oil ways are internal.

the clutch side on the 600 has an oil feed outlet with a banjo Aaaah - yes, do you remember the infamous chromed oil line you have? It must connect at the top right (looking from the side) of the clutch case, there is a blank lug there on the 650. It's likely that you could get this drilled and tapped, but I still think you would be better cleaning yours up in situ. Well spotted Yellowmelos

The only reason i know is because i was going to clean and polish up all the casing on my 600 NTV and then put them on my 650.... then i see that the pipe was not there on the 650 when i changed the clutch

Cheers for the input chaps.
Polished alloy is the look I am after. Thinking of doing the grab rail in the same style.
Until I get some other wheels I don't fancy looking for exhaust problems so i suspect it will be an in situ job.
I was thinking initially wire wool then finish with autosol?

unless your casing are really in good condition it will be difficult to get the m look nice, the slightest dent or deep scratch really show up. been down this route all ready.
got rid of the paint with paint stripper, then usied some fine wet and dry paper and sponge sanding block fine wet and dry type again.. the put in on a polishing mop..
even after all that still not as good as i expected.....
rule of thumb is .. the more you polish you better it will be... but i did do a rocker cover that came up very good... apart from the engine vent
