A long standing idea I have had for a while. A buy-it now on ebay this morning has prompted a more conventional option. Not sure where this is going yet but as a minimum its a spare I will need as my rear panel is looking tired on its fixings. This is said to only be scratched. "fingers crossed"

Not sure where this project is going yet. I am currently looking for a ripped seat to use as a base for a sport style seat. Any thoughts on the idea welcome. Cheers Roger Initial thoughts in paint.

Probably less than tuppence worth, but......... Depending on how the extension was made, would it be useful to have the new seat "hump" able to be easily detached, (only when the main seat-base was released, perhaps?) as a hidden extra storage area? If the sides of the hump were slightly tapered, going aft as seen from above, they might wrap in under the seat-base so that the hump is slid forward into position, until it meets the aft vertical face of the single seat, and is locked in place simply by pressing the whole seat assembly down and forward "into battery", just as normal when locking-on the seat? Hope that makes some vague sense! All the best Ed

Interesting idea ex925.
I will have to work up some more sketches. If I did it your way I could recover my existing seat and then add the sport seat.
I still plan to keep the GvS special seat which enables me to tie on a rucksack. But still fancy the sport look.

I still plan to keep the GvS special seat ...... Ahh, you mean the scaffolding ;D Looking back on this, it's one of the ugliest contraptions that I've made. Heath Robinson would have been proud of me ! ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._Heath_Robinson) GvS

I ended up getting my existing seat recovered, so GvS's famous "scaffolding " will be in use for this years camping event at Beaulieu. I will be looking for a tatty seat towards the end of the year, to revisit my project.
