hi ruffster893...welcome to the forum. Pull up Rj's chair, tell Mcf about your NTV and afterwards pull out a pin and stick it in our map.. Nothing better then knowing which NTV owner is near enough for a ride out. and we are starting to get a roll on the ride outs this year. And like Rj, if you go for a ride a take a pic let us see it... we love those short ride little suckers. (Obviously if you do an epic like france such a WS and danm did, Under Rule 4a, paragraph 3 of the NTV rule book, you are expected to post FULL details for our trip, Bikes, locations, etc... But for those shorter rides a pic or two will do.... ;D ;D Ride safe & enjoy forum. Jaz

Thanks for the welcome I'm Will and I live and work in Solihull. I got my NTV last September; I wanted something to use all year round to save getting my Blade out in the salt etc. I really wanted an Africa Twin but Ewen and Charlie have single handedly put the price of any Dualsport up by 200%... I remembered as a kid my great Uncle taking me out on his NTV so I started investigating those instead as its the same motor pretty much but with the awesomeness of a shaft drive! I found my NTV as a part-ex to clear in Stratford. Some fella had it from new and just rode it a few miles a year. Anyway after 12 years he fancied a change and chopped it for a V-Strom 650 I think. The bike had 7200 miles on it with 12 months MOT - it was listed on eBay so I popped for a look - the shop just wanted it out of the way asap so I got it for £750 there and then which was what he'd given on it. Whilst its seen little use its seen even less bucket and sponge action! I think it was stored under garden tools... took a weekend to polish all the scratches out but it looks tidy enough now. I'm going to use it for a few years and then rebuild it in the future - it's in that imbetween stage where its flaking on the edges but not enough to warrant a full rebuild yet. Only thing wrong was the temp guage didn't work on riding it home which made me nervous - stopped at a pub and found it was just the lead had come off the sender. You can't beat the first ride home... Since I've had it I've rebuilt the calipers, fitted stainless hoses and HH pads which have improved the braking a lot. Next up I really need some new tyres as it's still on the OEM dunlops...

Sounds like you were in the right place at exactly the right time - a bargain - well done you.
We all want to know if it is really genuine - is there a dent in the tank? Without it you may have bought a high quality fake ;D
