Just wondering whether others have had problems with cracking on the sidewalls of Avon Roadrider tyres. My front tyre has covered 6.500 miles and is date stamped 0314. The rear tyre has covered 4,700 miles and is date stamped 3114. The front tyre actually replaced a twelve month old Roadrider which had covered only 2,800 miles, had sidewall cracking, and for which Avon offered a measly 70% refund. The tyres have always been run at the recommended pressure, which is checked regularly.
I also own a Revere and a 650 Bros, both fitted with Roadriders. The tyres on the Revere were made in 2008, and those on the Bros were made in 2010. There has been no sidewall cracking on these older tyres, yet I have owned these two bikes for over seven years.
Has anyone had similar problems with recently manufactured Roadriders?
