Having a play with my rear shock before I change it as most people seem to think its stuffed.
They can't all be wrong?
My preload was on 6 & the damping screw was screwed all the way in.
I have now set the preload to middle of the road and would the pre load screw out about a turn.
Seems to feel better and not as hard tail as it was. I will see what other people think and let you know. Has to be better than re gassing the shock, although this may still be on the cards.
Thoughts welcome. Has anybody had the same problem?
Cheers Roger

www.honda.de/fahrerhandbuecher/NTV650_37MZ6620.pdf (NTV manual) page 21 (13 of the english section) Should tell you what you need to know about how it SHOULD work. But, having said that, I should add I had a bit of a problem with the dampening on mine. Not in it's working, but in finding out what to do. The dot mentioned in the manual isn't there. And even worse, I can do about 3 turns on the screw...something I think shouldn't be possible. I turned it all the way in (not out) as far as I remember, and took that to be the starting point. But that was a long time ago....and I haven't touched that since. I do adjust the preload everytime I load more weight on. (this makes the biggest difference anyway....haven't felt much change on the dampening anyway)

Cheers buzz I will have a read of the link later, I have a shock which would allow me to take mine off for refurb (cheers McF) but this has enabled me to get a better understanding of how it works.
My damping dot currently is not visible and like yours it was screwed all the way in, I have unscrewed it a bit an it seems better, so fingers crossed.
