Hi all, figured I should have a mooch around here for useful information, recently got myself an NTV650, mechanically a real charmer, but cosmetically a bit of a hack. I've been working on her here and there, fixed a cracked front fender, resprayed matt black as well as the fairings at the mid section, tank spray this weekend. I'm thinking of going for a red and black look, I've photoshopped what I'm working toward here: (This is my actual bike, just with digital edit) files.noirenex.com/Bikes/NTV650/NTV_650_Red.pngThinking I'll have the frame powder coated instead of celly since it'll last longer. Anyone stripped one of these down to the frame before have any tips?

No help to ya lad, but I hope you got it done or you're still at it. My own beast is in a sorry enough state cosmetically too and I reckon it'll get Cafe racer treatment at some stage.
It'd be cool to see pics of your progress.

Well, I did it in the end, I'll have to pop some pictures up, I decided to carbon fiber wrap the frame which looks great and seems to hold up in the weather, the tank I sprayed matte black, i carbon fiber wrapped the filling cap, and painted the bolts red, which has a real nice look to it.
She's in bits in my garage at the moment though, just checking the valve clearances and putting new spark plugs in and servicing, I need to weld the center stand kick plate back on too, I dropped her a couple of months ago so used it as an excuse to buy a few new bits.
Got some nice red foot pegs from LSL on GetGeared, new bar end mirrors, I'm going for an understated sort of look, black, carbon fiber and detailing in red, it's looking good so far
