Hi everyone, I managed to buy a 1990 NTV 650 as my first bike earlier this week and have done over a thousand kilometers to visit friends and family (and of course having the fun of riding!) She's a German import, and an earlier owner fitted her with a late exhaust system, along with instrument panel and handlebars - she looks like a much newer example because of this. The engine runs smooth, with great throttle response. I have had it restricted to 35 kW as I am only 21 years old, but acceleration haven't suffered anything and the top speed is around 175 km/h... The gearbox is very typical NTV - clunky, a bit difficult to find neutral and can jump into neutral when running at a slow pace in second gear. It is definitely something small in the whole of things and I feel the great engine is worth it alone - but the other features are just making the whole deal sweeter. I want to know your secrets about touring with the NTV - what helmet do you use? Your opinion on fully synthetic vs. semi synthetic oil and so on. Best regards, Søren aka danishntv Attachments:
