Don't argue with me seized bolts, i'll get "Mr Grinder" on your ar*# This is the reason the Honda boys put the spacers either side of the bolt. Was going to use white Nylon Round Bar as replacement spacers.

I'm still struggling with a similar problem on one of my Beemers. The bolts were seized solid. I ended up getting Mr G to work but the front bolt is still firmly in the block. It's a long slow job; every week or so I drill a little bit more through. Stainless Steel replacements for me

I see the watty pump housing rotted away too or did you break it `persuading` the steel pipe out from it`s electrolitic marriage with the alloy housing? WTF is wrong with designers? Steel in alloy, add water and road salt, the resulting feckin mess don`t take too much imagination eh? By simply using a flange and a faced gasket it could all have been so much simpler!

Yes the bolt was stuck in fast as much as I twanged it, about an hours worth of twanging, it wasn't budging. Twanging + heat + pentrating oil. In the end had to get creative with the grinder. Don't know if its that clear from the image but it was only one end of the bolt which was corrided onto the engine. Basically just made cut along length of bolt which relieved the tension and then was able to be removed. Hopefully there is enough left to support the new bolt. Was going to use Quiksteel to comestically make the repair. Had to remove the s on the https then it worked. Cheers, been a long week Yeah Piky the water pump got split out by frost / corrosion over the last couple of years.

Was going to use Quiksteel to comestically make the repair. This is what I did in the end. Don't forget that there is also another support bracket above it to take the weight of the engine Mine is fin at the moment, and it passed the mot ok.
