Have to admit to being a bit thoughtless on here until it affected me...
so apologies to those affected....
I think we all saw how excited Buzzin was over his new bike and I have ridden with McF and heard the pride in his voice as he talked about the 'Pan' and i just didn't get the significance of what they were saying, until now.
Both have been fantastic in their contribution both on here and in the old country (As Rj calls it.. )
McF made the first real moves to building this site so we could transfer over, and Buzzin has been a mine of information, bike and otherwise in all his posts.
Both are genuine NTV riders who have found a site where they feel at home (I hope.. ) and now due to having another bike may have wondered if they belong here..(sorry guys you do belong, just thinking out loud.. )
Previously i met jonsan (the pink and white NTV charity rider) who had an NTV and Yam Divvy.
he was pretty regular contact on the forum and i enjoyed reading and posting back to his posts, the same as a few others who are no longer with us (bike failure or just a change of ride)
His NTV failed for some reason or other and now he no longer posts with us, but he is probably still on the Yam forum though
I know he was on the yam forum, as he rode up to our meeting with them, and even told me to join as they were a great bunch and the NTv was not a problem, as it was the rider who posts not the bike..
So because the site was so NTV specific he may have felt like an interloper and just gone where he felt more wanted...
Guess what i am trying to say is i feel at home here, and it is part of my day looking forward to reading and posting back to the posts you all send in.
But due to my recent story, it hit me that another bike might mean me leaving and starting again with a new crowd, who would probably be real nice, but just wouldn't be the crowd i have grown to know and love....
Sure none of us would want to be swamped by the 'Hyabusa/fireblade/etc OR the BIG trailie crowd (yes i know other bikes have their own great sites but you get my drift... )
But maybe we should have a more open policy to other riders.
Perhaps the main section for the NTV but a smaller section for 'Other Bikes' pehaps?
Sure those that find us will have either had an NTV at some point
or simply be a loner looking for a friendly place to park up and post in.
Sure a more 'open' policy would not make too many demands on us as a group, the NTV would still be the main product discussion,
but as riders of other bikes they could add valuable content to our discussions, (what to wear, where to ride, how to prepare for winter etc;) and add to the group collective.
Unfortunately the bikes can fail..(Don't i know.. )
OR we could just see a 'To Good to Miss' opportunity and buy it.
Sure we'd all be sensible enough to join the 'New Bike' forum for advice and help
but maybe you'd still want to share your biking experiences with your old friends on here...?
Just a post to sound out how we feel, could be the project NTV is the one we will all have, as the bikes get older and parts become rarer.............................?
So i am going to get mine back on the road thanks to you lot, but would an 'other Bikes' section be a good idea?
Anyone got an opinion on this ?
I say Yes,
But lets hear what the rest of you think,
after all it's YOUR forum...
