It happens again and again, I wake up, get ready, look outside and figure: "Car day" Get to work, look out the windows and think "*%&^%^& I should have riden my bike" Again this morning (wellll...it was 11 am) I jumped in the car, only to think halfway "Crud, it's going to be a nice day, I should have taken the bike..." Why is the car so simple to get in to? I'm guessing that's the only reason I don't ride the bike. Maybe I should chain the car to something so it takes 10 minutes to get off I'm ashamed of my biking habbits (But I did have a nice ride-out on sunday...with my camera....)

We, like most things will take the weakest line of resistance, if we can... Car= keys, start, drive away....5 mins max Bike=First layer then 2nd layer then boots then neck wrap then jacket then keys then exit house, wipe dew/rain/snow of saddle then unchain Lock, remove disc lock, undo steering lock, put on gloves....... Fire up engine............... ;D ;D fifteen minutes well spent Want to make it even, take out spark plugs each night from car, replace them in morning,... (but get someone else to hide plug spanner just to make the choice easier...... ;D ;D )

Well, my solution is a bit involuntary. My wife used to travel miles as pillion during our first few years together and sometimes has the odd outing now. But since we've had a car she much prefers to travel in that. I suggested to her at one time that she should take her bike test but she just complained that she would end up with flat hair and red eyes (which is probably a better alternative to flat eyes and red hair). So, she uses the car for work etc and I use the bike, which suits me! Even when the car is on the drive, usually I find the bike more convenient unless I have to transport some large object. If it's frosty, the bike has a time advantage as I don't need to defrost it. I might have to defrost myself on return but I don't generally have any conflict between using the bike or the car. The car is ours, but the bike is MINE! And I just like riding bikes!
