Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome. Just acquired a revere 1989 vintage done 96000 , a new back tyre and straight through the MOT . The engines sweet ,does jump out of second if reved hard . the bikes not mint as can be expected age and mileage etc . Full stainless motad exhaust, heated grips alarm , givi rack, screen, not bad for £350 .Owned a VT500 years ago . The riding position seems a little cramped at the moment coming from a big trailie , is the NTV650 any different (different bars) in that respect
cheers sidi

Welcome Sidi!!!
Aaah the famous 2nd gear issue, my bike does that, too! Not so much when revved hard, just when it feels like it! Hahaha! Definately a bargain for £350 there, and they don't take a great deal to get them shining again, I believe there's some threads in Techincal section if you're up for it!! We'd love to see piccies!

Welcome sidi! No, the riding position on the NTV and the Revere is the same. Only difference: on the NTV you could change it by replacing the bars. The second gear thing takes some getting used to, and then you never notice it anymore (I have the same problem) Come back often and keep posting! Buzzin

Hi sidi, I also have an 89 Revere. My brother always found her a bit cramped, but that did not stop him adding about 60,000 to her. He is 6 foot 3. But I am 6 foot and I love the riding position. 2nd gear can be random but not yet a major issue. I am getting the carb rubbers and forks done next weekend, can't wait. Next after that will be a new back tyre. They were due to be done this weekend but the parts did not come in. She still went like a bat, can't wait for fully balanced carbs ;D. She has done 91,000 and looks her age in the wrong light but she can still go. Welcome to the club. If you ever need help with posting pics or the members map just ask and one of us will help. often if you try and post a pic, one of the admin team can login and modify your post to fix it so it's worth a try. Kind regards Roger AKA rj2para
