Hi everyone, I decided to fit some home-made protection to my stanchions. The summer will be here soon and then a lot of flies will commit suicide against my bike; some of them against my stanchions, which is not very good for the seals. It's a very simple piece of rubber material (rubber foam / 1 mm thick) on which I've sewn some reflective tape. Between the tape and the rubber, there's a thin strip of aluminium. They are held in position by stainless steel hose clamps: While fitting the left one, I found out that the stanchion was a bit dirty. You've guessed it: the oil seal is leaking Now I've got to find someone to replace that seal. It's job I could do myself, but I'm far too busy at the moment doing other things. GvS

Now that is a good idea. Protection and Reflection all in one. and it looks better than gators.

Hi, Just got some universal fork protectors from Hein Gericke, £7.99, tie wrap fit. Excellent stuff for the money.

That's the ones. A good simple fit. Can't complain.
