I am starting to look at ideas for the development of our site. www.hondantv.co.ukThe current style for the site will stay for a while but I am looking for ideas for either future functionality or style changes. All ideas are good but I will retain the editors decision. That said, if any members would like to submit ideas here, it will help grow our site. Content is good, I can easily lift images or text from your forum posts. But if you want to put specific thoughts forward, to highlight your latest trip, please get in touch and we can work together on your ideas. I have been looking on the web for ideas and have created the following idea in paint initially for a layout idea. Ignore the text, this simply indicates my inspiration.

Just my 2c but the colours are a bit bland. I work in web development (the techie stuff not the arty stuff) so don't take my design tips too seriously. I'll have a look at the site itself and come back with ideas.

Map: Maybe I'm stupid (don't comment ) but I can't work out how to add a pin with my location to the map. Site engine: You could have a look at something like Joomla www.joomla.org, which would allow you to keep the current style but has all sorts of features to allow members to interact. I have it running on www.motorcycleprojects.com (looks terrible at the moment but that says more about my design skills than any flaw in Joomla)

New Map Page layout done and link to the google help page added. I will write a more site specific help page when I get time. In the mean time drop me a line if you have any problems. Or send me the name of the town you live in and I will add you a pin. :-) Simples. Regards Roger

Hi Roger,
I got the map to work now. Maybe a line saying you need to be logged in to Google Maps might help - that's all I was missing.
Cheers
Prof

Thinking of adding an optional login to the website.
It would not allow or restrict content but would allow some personal settings to be configured eg you could have your own banner at the top with a picture of your bike.
Just a thought.

Not another "login". Currently having a weeks holiday in "Centre Parcs". Made the booking via their website and -of course- we got a personal "My Centre Parcs" login. Yet another password you've got to remember or write down GvS

Cheers for the feedback GvS. You may well have a point. Hope you enjoy centre parcs. I went to the UK version years ago and enjoyed it. Good way to feel on holiday and warm even when it rains.
