Looking at my half built bike today I had a thought, Normally makes my team at work groan, ;D For a moment there I thought Cafe Racer, bar end mirrors. What do you think.? Time to get another beer and think again. mspaint mod below. Personally even on the Revere, I still think the bars still look a bit high.

Sounds like it could work! Are you planning a hump back rear seat and rearsets as well or just changing the bars?

I tend to dream my bike into a number of forms as some members will have already realised. All I have done so far is use microsoft paint on the computer to edit out the wing mirrors. looking at it again today; as you say I would need to change the bars. This would be easier on the NTV with the one piece bars and I did see some on ebay that would have done the job. Not as easy on the Revere with the two piece bars. A hump seat is not actually far from the sport seat I have been considering for some time. I did see a rear seat cover with bolts each side somehow fixing to a removed grab rail on another bike that did get me thinking. I just want my bike to be a Commuter,Racer,Tourer and off road bike. No problem then . Oh well time to go and do some more, almost time for a test ride.

why not get the top clamp off a ntv, then move the fuse box under the side panel, or buy some clipon,s ( or a set off a bros) 41mm and take the top clamp off and slide them on the fork tube,s put the clamp back on twist grip and the rest of the stuff, have a try see what you think if you dont like it nothing has been cut( eg all the cables are standard )if you buy some i would help you one day only a few hours work :-) outlaw

why not get the top clamp off a ntv I have forks and yokes for both 600 and 650, but they're at the back of my collection of parts in the loft of my garage. I may be wrong (would not be the first time today!) but I'm sure there was some reason why the top and bottom yokes have to be matched, ie 600 top yoke must go on 600 bottom yoke and vice versa. Stanchion sizes are the same (41mm), so there must have been some other reason, possibly then the main steering column. RJ - it's all do-able, certainly if you got a top and bottom yoke from a 650, but I suspect it would put the abilities of you and your workshop to the test! Having trialled a variety of bars on my 650, including "Norton Straights" I had no end of bother trying to figure out cable routes and then was very disappointed with the riding position. If you're going to start messing around with handlebars, you will also need to look at the footrest positions too - try to move them back and possibly down, and that is another whole world of pain. Keep dreaming would be my advice.

I couldn't decide what bars to put on my triumph, when I got it, it had cg125/ sr125 type handlebars on it and was very hard to steer at low speed! I went through many diffrent options ace bars, harley style and even drag bars but nothing seemed right , for me anyway!
So I went for a set of Raask jota adjustable bars and they are brilliant you can change them in a few seconds to any style or position you wish and they come in chrome ;D
not cheap but well worth the price!
The other thing that can make a diffrence to the feel and comfort Is the grips used I've got doherty,s and have had them on my last 3 bikes as the look good and are realy comfertable!

In a blinding flash of inspiration, I recalled one reason why it's not that simple to swap the top yoke
Instruments - they're completely different mounting arrangement

Which ones did you have in mind? There are 25 sets there, but I couldn't see any that might help on your Revere

I have seen them used on another site. Single bolt to one of the mounting points for the bars.
Not convinced by the look.
What do you think it would cost for a custom bar with the bar actually welded to the fixing plate? ie about 4 inches lower.

Yes that's the picture I had seen on an old site, we used a couple of years back . Re the Bros bars. Are they the same diameter as the Revere stanchions then. It would seem any easy ish mod to try.
