Summer is almost over so its time to sort out a set of new tires ready for the rain and cold
This is the setup at the moment : Front : Battlax BT45F 110/80-17 57V (Manual = 110/80-17 57H) Rear : Dunlop K505 150/70-17 69H (Manual =150/70-17 69H)
My question is what is the difference between V & H - the manual recommends 'H' but there is a 'V' on the front now so it obviously fits etc What tires do you use and what would you recommend ?

I have a BT45 on the front and a BT021 on the back. I want a BT021 to match for the front, but I do not do many miles and there is to much tread on the BT45. The BT021 sticks to the road well in the wet and dry, and the edges of the BT45 do grumble a little when I play . Depends what sort of riding you do.

2x BT09s I finally joined the 21st. century More grip than I ever expected, wet or dry How long will these soft, sticky compounds last? I have just got two extra wheels so I can fit a pair of longer-lasting tyres And I'll save the 09s for "best" HTH Ed

Avon's, azaro and a sport, stuck to the road like poo to a blanket. 8,000 for the front, 6,000 for the rear.

Thanks you all for your reply's Most of you recomend the Bridgestone's and I've found a set online for just under €200 (BT45-H) www.blackcircles.comGvS - About the V & H We load the bike to its maximum www.ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=longwayround&thread=1395&page=1#9414so would the 'V' be more suitable or are we still well within the range of the 'H' Quote JJ : Loves the rain so do I but I do ride all through the winter unless there is snow and ice - live hard, die hard (or in other words no choice the robin is off the road) Quote odie : 8,000 for the front, 6,000 for the rear I just been looking at some rubber in the local bike garage and there were quite a few bikes with Avon's - looks a nice tyre but they all looked quite worn - like you say just 6000>8000km = short life, good grip - short life is not so important but good grip is

I use a battlax BT45 for the front and a Metzler ME55 for the rear. I am very impressed with the Metzler, sticks like glue!

BlackHonda, You're confused: the letter stands for the speed-index, not the load index. An "H" tyre is suitable for motorbikes with a top speed of up to 210 km/h. Should your bike go faster, then you need a "V" tyre. GvS
