Real bad news for me....................
After a moments in attention on the wet and greasy roads, I dropped the bike today.............
can't prove it but after i stupidly touched the front brake, when i spotted the car in front braking, i then found the front wheel slipping swiftly away from underneath me on a patch of diesel...........
difficult to prove, as the police who turned up pointed out,
"hard to tell mate, you've spilt some petrol there when you went down as well"
though you could see it in tiny patches heading off into the distance, where i had not yet slid to.....
damage not too extreme...
water pipe got ripped out and bent up....
here it is after i gingerly straightened it up and re-attached it...
fairing was nearly all off at the time, and strangely enough i was off to get a new indicator for the far side..
looks like a pair would come in handy now...
rad took a bit of a hit...this pipe got rammed into the radiator itself..
i had to lever it away from the rad...i don't think i did any damage, but you can see that where the weld is to the rad is a white-ish circle..
possibly where the weld had slightly weakened?
assorted damage was barends are fubarred...fairing frame bent and fairing cracked, wing mirror smashed off....
All of this is not really too bad, but the real downside is i came down quite heavily on my right shoulder,
thankfully the jacket took the main hit.
When i fell i heard a loud-ish crack and had a sharp pain in the shoulder area...
It wasn't nice to fall but it was pleasant to see that within seconds i had a large crowd gathered all gawking down at me, ready to offer help....
(thank you people of britain. ;D )
But i think it wasn't the speed of the impact, just that i landed directly on the shoulder like a thingy, and i think that may have pushed my shoulder in as it now feels like i have cracked a rib or two....
Hurts like the devil to raise my arms above shoulder height, so going to have to wait and see how i feel closer to the time...
but looking very unlikely i will fit to make the trip to jog.....
going to give myself until tomorrow to decide, Yea or Nae to going.
A sad, depressed and very miserable biker.....
